Internet will be more affordable as it is becoming so popular it is almost a must. If everyone has and needs it, it will become more of a right to have access. Growth will only get bigger.

Future internet users= 6 billion
Email is by far and away the most popular application on the internet.
Probably the first email system of this type was MAILBOX, used at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1965.
In 1968 with a company called Bolt Beranek and Newman (BBN) was hired by the defense department to develop a network called ARPANET.
This stands for Advanced Research Projects Agency Network.
This network was being developed for communications between bases.
Ray Tomlinson is credited with inventing email in 1972.
He was the person who picked the "@" symbol that tells the servers where to send the mail. Ray Tomlison was credited for developing email because of this.
He said this as to why he picked the "@" symbol: "it seemed to make sense. I used the "@" sign to indicate that the user was 'at' some other host rather than being local."
By 1974 email was widely used by the defense department to replace aging ways of communication.
By 1975 75% of the traffic on the ARPANET was email.
Email took us from Arpanet to the Internet.
Today according to a recent report by Forrester Research, more than half of all Americans use email for an average of half an hour each day. They claim a total of 87 million Americans are active email users.

It wasn't until 1991 that internet entered the first public schools.
However, it was stated that because it wasn't widely accessible it wasn't used.
This was the beginning of a change that schools didn't expect.
At first the internet was seen as a way for parents and students work together on projects.
Was the first time that students could have access to their school 24-7. Even with teachers.
It wasn't until the mid 1990's that email was available to students in schools.

Collaborative projects not with classes in our own school but with other classes around the world.
Students will be using social networking sites such as twitter and face book to help collaborate with classmates on projects.
All textbooks will be placed online.
All students will have a computer available anytime so they can reach the internet.
Education will no longer be done in one classroom but classrooms across the world.
What will things look like? We can only guess.
